Hi, so today I'll be talking about a book that I read when I was just 13. It's If Tomorrow Comes by Sidney Sheldon. At that time I just had finished reading fairy tales, classics like Jane Eyre, Pride and Prejudice, Moby Dick, some classics like that.
And this book actually shocked me in a good way because it was one of the first thriller or crime novels I've ever read. It was very fast and the main character was so bold and smart. It's a woman, her name is Tracy. She's sent to jail for a crime that she didn't do but instead of giving up she becomes stronger and she learns to fight back in her own way.
Every chapter feels like a movie actually. I still remember some of those clever plans or the smart moves that they did in the novel. It's still used in some of the movies I watched and I've never read anything like it before. And at 13 I was so impressed. Until then I had only read stories where women were waited to be saved but Tracy saved herself. It was the first time I read about a woman like that.
And I think that's why it stayed with me. It made me feel excited. So yeah, this book will always be special to me and it kind of kindred my spirit to read more thrillers or read more crime books actually. And it made me fall in love with thriller novels and especially the genre.
And that's all for today. Thank you for listening. See you in the next episode.
